Of The Farmers’ Mutual Insurance Association. The thirteenth annual meeting of the Farmers’ Mutual Insurance Association of Benton, Jasper and White counties, Indiana, was held in Remington, January 8, 1910, for the elecetlon of officers and such business as might come before it. President W. H. Cheadle stated for business reasons he would ‘not be • a candidate for another term. D. N. Shand resigned ds director and W. I. McCollough was elected to fill his unexpired term. Officers elected for 1910: President, W. I. McCollough; SecretaryTreasurer, Frank E. Fisher; Adjusters, James Sheedy, B. D. Comer. Thomas Taylor. The Mutual has over $2,000,000 of good farm insurance in force and in its 13 years of business has an average cost to its members of 20 2-3 cents per SIOO per year, being more than one-half cheaper than the rates paid before the Mutual was organized. With a 2t> cent levy this year we pay all losses for 1909 and have money left to pay the first losses for 1910. The Mutuals of Indiana carry more than $100,000,000 of farm property and are gaining in favor amd amount of business done each year. Nearly all lines of business* are following the mutul idea in bandtogether for self protection from the high rate of the old-line companies, seeing that it is cheaper and safer to pay only the actual losses Ind legitimate ‘running expenses than the fixed rate of the foreign companies. , t FRANK E. FISHER, Secy.
