LARGEST SUGAR PLANTATION

Irrigation Work Commenced on 177,000 Acree Tract In Texas. Galveston, Dec. 28. —Irrigation work has been started on what will be the largest sugar plantation in the world. It is in the Rio Grande valley or Brownsville country. It will comprise 177,000 acres. Experimental farms of from ten to twenty-five acres have produced a better quality of sugar than the Cuban soil.
