Phenix of Prrcklyn Is Charged With Leaning Funds to President. New York, Dec. 7. —The directors of the Phenix Insurance company, a sl,500,000 Brooklyn corporation, has removed from office at the instance of the state insurance department, George P. Sheldon, who had been president of the company for twenty-two years. The company is accused of making false reports and of lending its money in violation of law to Sheldon and to Secretary Charles H. Koster. Sheldon is lying at ths point of death at Greenwich, Conn.
