BANK OUTLAWS 1889 DEPOSIT
Heir* Hear of Existence of Money 15 Years After Death; File Suit. Terre Haute, Ind., Nov. 80.—Whether the statue of limitations applies to a bank deposit is the question in a suit brought here. Elzeaphus Thomas deposited $3,400 lo the First National bank at Greencastle twenty-five years ago. He did not tell his family about it. When he died in 1889. none knew of the deposit Fifteen years later his heirs heard the story of the bank deposit. They found no deposit book nor a certificate of deposit. R. H. Burkett, administrator of the estate, made a demand for the money and four years ago brought suit, now come to a hearing. % The bank sets up the statue of Unit tations, which. It is contended, affects a note if no demand Is made for the money.
