Fall Inventory.
Dainty Doris, back in town. Sighs o'er faded hat and gown. Slippers marred at heel and toe. Evening gloves which usage show. Time and weather were unkind— So it seems to Doris' mind. Muses o’er each souvenir— Dance lists showing marks most queer. Favors, flowers, a tinted shell, Which of beach flirtations tell. Givers* names 'twere hard to find; Out of sight is out of mind. Counts the trophies she's acquired— Golf cups, tennis .prize desired. Winnings gained at bridge and skat— But one prize delights her heart. At her belt a scalp you'll find. Bald, but Doris doesn’t mind. —Ella A. Fanning in New York Herald.
