SNOW FALLS IN FIVE STATES

Flakes Drop In lowa, Missouri, Ohio. Minnesota and Wisconsin. Des Moines. Oct. 12. —Snow fell here for a short time. It was accompanied by a piercing north wind. Eight snow is reported from many towns in the state. St. Joseph, Mo., Oct. 12.—The first snow of the season fell here. The precipitation was light and the snow melted as fast as it fell. New Richmond, Wis., Oct. 12.—Snow flurries here were followed by a bliz zard. The temperature dropped to freezing. > Winona, Minn., Oct. 12. Three Inches of snow fell here. At times the storm assumed the proportions of a blizzard. Hamilton, 0., Oct. 12.—A light snow, the first of the season, fell here.
