SLAIN BY HIS CELLMATE
Indiana Reformatory Prisoner Struck On Head With an Iron Bolt. Jeffersonville, Ind., Oct s.—Fritz Hoffman, twenty-two years old. an inmate of the Indiana reformatory, is dead from a blow on the bead with an iron bolt in the hands of his cellmate, Noah Burris, eighteen years old. Burris confessed to Superintendent Peyton that he struck Hoffman three times. Burris was sent from Carroll county in 1908 for grand larceny. He has been subjected time and again to all the methods of punishment in vogue at the reformatory. s Hoffman was sentenced from Jennings county m 1908. He was ordered paroled one month ago and would soon have been released. His father lives in Germany.
