This indictment, it is believed, will be of a sensational character, that is, it will deal with a matter that has caused some commotion here and in other sections of tne state by charges made of vital interest to the people of numerous counties. At the time of going to press no arrest had been made.

Sheriff Shirer took Charles O. Garland of Marion tp., to Longcliff Monday. The young man is but 22 years of age, and has been showing signs of being “off” for several months. The inquest was held last week, but as it was not desired to put him in jail pending the action of the asylum officials, the papers were requested to make no mention of the matter until he was taken away, for fear he would hear of it. He imagines that people are after him to put him in the penitentiary, has spells of laughing to himself, is sleepless and not considered a person fit to be left to himself, is the belief of the examining board. He is the tenth insane person Sheriff Shirer has taken to Longcliff from Jasper county since he was Inducted into office, nine months ago.
