Monday is Labor Day. W. H. Morrison was in Chicago on business Wednesday. J. P. Overton of Lee was in town on business Tuesday. S. W. Myers of Monticello was in town on business Tuesday . Simon Fendig was down from Wheatfield on business Thursday. Herbert Hammond went to Wheatfield to visit his grandparents Wednesday. Mrs. Mary Howe and daughter returned Tuesday from their outing trip to Winona. Miss Teressa Nagle went to Lafayette Thursday to visit with relatives and attend the fair. Mrs. Percy Longfellow was called to Chicago Thursday by the serious sickness of her mother. Miss Cora Michaels of Chicago, returned home Wednesday after a visit with Mrs. A. Pruett. W. E. Peck of Remington spent Tuesday in Chicago, returning home Wednesday via Rensselaer. George Hurley went to Battle Ground Thursday to visit with his ■sister-in-law, Mrs. Eliza Hurley. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Long and Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Wright spent Wednesday on the Kankakee fishing.. Miss Esther Padgett went to Boswell Wednesday to visit and from there to Lafayette to attend the fair. I. J. Garriott of Brookston returned home Wednesday after a business visit here of a couple of days. Miss Clara Schultz left Wednesday for Goodland, where she is employed as a domestic in the family of Harry Little. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Burns of Kankakee, 111., returned home Wednesday after a week’s visit with Michael Burns. Miss Queene Perry left Wednesday for Lebanon to begin her work as music director in the public schools of that place. Mrs. R. P. Benjamin and granddaughter went to Otterbein Wednesday to visit her father, B. F. Magee, for a few days. Mrs. Benjamin Smith and children, who have been visiting in North Manchester, with her uncle, returned home TuesdayGeorge Kussmaul of Hammond was here Wednesday making arrangements to enter St. Joseph’s College this year. L. M. Schomber of Shirley, Ind., took the train here Wtednesday for his home, after looking over his farm near Kersey. Miss Morrison of Chicago, who has been visiting Mlsa Edna Thompson for the past two weeks, returned home Wednesday. Mrs. C. A. Hederlck of Arma, Mich., and Mrs. C. E- Prugh of Champaign, 111., are here visiting with their sister, Mrs. F. B. Ham. Mrs. A. L. Padgltt and sister, Miss Maude Daugherty, went to Lafayette Wednesday to visit relatives and attend the Tippecanoe county fair. Russell Nowels, son of Arthur Nowels of Columbia City, came Wednesday to visit with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Wasson. Uncle Billy Moore returned home Wednesday from a visit with his brother and sister, C. S. Moore and Mrs. Mac Proud of Winchester, Ind.
