Caused by His Trouble With Eddie Collins of Athletics. Washington, Aug. 13. President Ban Johnson of the American league has announced that Umpire Hurst, who during a recent game in Philadelphia had a difficulty with Eddie Collins of the Athletics, would be dropped from the league. “Mike" Thompson, the former Georgetown baseball star, will succeed Hurst.
