Hopkins went to Eagle River, Wis., Saturday to spend a few days with his wife and sons, who are sojourning there. Miss Hazel Hammerton returned to her home In East Lynn, 111., Saturday after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Hammerton. Mell Abbott and family and nephew, Arnold Wood of Chicago, went to Water Valley Monday for a week’s outing on the Kankakee. Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Jacks went to Lafayette Saturday to visit with their daughters, Mrs. Len Lefler and Miss Ethel, and their son Vern. .Lawrence Laibe of Ottawa, Ohio, returned home Saturday after serving a three years apprenticeship in St. Joseph’s printing office. Mrs. Charles Harmon returned to her home, in Chicago Saturday after an extended visit with her parents, Mr- and Mrs. W. A. Brown. T. M. McAle<sr of Henry, 111., is here for a few days looking after his farm in Milroy tp., where he recently purchased 200 acres of land. Mr. and Mrs. Will Vannatta of Chicago are here for a week visiting the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Gaffield of Milroy tp. Mrs. James Yeoman went to Francesville Saturday to spend the week’s end with her daughter, Mrs. Harry Wade, returning Monday evening. Capt. J. A. Burnham and granddaughter, Doris Morlan, wen* to Oregon, 111., Saturday to attend a bible school of the Church of God. Mrs. Harry Kapp returned to her home in Logansport Saturday after a visit with her husband, who is employed on St. Joseph’s new buildings. ■ • Elmer and John Daniels left yesterday to secure employment in the harvest fields of South Dakota. They will make Mitchell their objective point. ' Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Brady accompanied her sister, Mrs. Romaine Braden of Indianapolis, as far as Chicago yestetday’on a trip to Ashton, Mich. Mrs. T. F. Downing of Little River, Kan., returned to her home Saturday after a visit with her sister, Mrs. James Welsh, and- other relatives here.
Mrs. F. G. Coover and son Glenwood returned yesterday to their home in Lincoln, Neb., after a month’s visit with Mr. and Mrs* Harvey Wood, Sr. Ira Norris James Anderson shipped their household goods to Hammond Saturday and left Monday with their families. They will work on the Monort section. M. Baughman was over from Monon yesterday on business.
