Aviator Hqpes to Go Through Government Tests Today. July 27. Orville Wright made a two and a half minute aeroplane flight under adverse condfc tions because he did not want to disappoint President Taft and a brilliant assemblage of Washington official life and an immense crowd of mere people —“ultimate consumers,” as one witty congressman described them. After the flight Wright expressed the hope of being able to undergo the government tests for both endurance and speed today. The time limit for the official tests expires tomorrow. France Wants Painting of Blsriot. Paris, July 27.—The French government has requested M. Thevenot, the artist, to paint a picture of, Blerlofs descent in his monoplane at Dover.
