MISSISSIPPI RIVER IS HIGH

East St. Louis and Cahokia# 111., People Fear Flood Damage. St. Louis, July 16.—The Mississippi river during the night rose so that the gauge read 35.3 feet. Manufacturing concerns across the river in Illinois are moving their stocks to higher ground. Residents of Cahokia, 111., worked all night strengthening the levees, which will stand but a slight rise.
