FAMOUS WOMEN IN SESSION

Toronto, June 15. —More than 7,000, * 000 women, living in all parts of the world, are represented at the fourth quinquennial meeting of the International Council of Women, which began its sessions in this city today. The purpose of the International Council of Women is the provision of a means of communication between organizations of women in all countries; also to provide opportunities for the intercommunication of views on ques-
tions affecting the welfare of the individual and the community. The president of the International Council is the Countess of Aberdeen, wife of the viceroy of Ireland, who has been on this side of the Atlantic for two weeks seeking support for her war on tuberculosis among the poor of Ireland.
