WRENS SCORE ANOTHER BEAT.
Mt. Ayr the Victims In a Weird Exhibition Sunday—Spectator Seriously. Hurt By Foul Ball. Mt. Ayr, loaded with Foresman talent and Joe Lewis, a ditcher of no mean repute, met defeat in a game of tiresome delays at Riverside Sunday afternoon. the college crack, did the slab stunt in grand styli for Rensselaer, registering 15 strike-outs and holding the visitors to a qfiartet of scattered hits. Wild, the opposing twirler, true to his name, pitched 12 consecutive balls and hit four batsmen. Both sides made frequent errors and wild heaves, but Mt., Ayr’s were more costly, coming at times when mi splays meant runs. Albert Augspurger, the 17-year-old son of Win. Augspurger of west of town, was struck in the temple .by a batted foul ball in the sixth inning and taken home in an unconscious codition witn a possibility of a fractured skull or of blood clot forming on the brain. Although it is hoped no serious consequences will follow'. The attendance at the games has warranted several changes ins the Wrens line-up, and next Sunday a real bush league game is promised.
