FIRST ELEVATOR RIDE FATAL

Girl Killed In Flatiron Building While Seeing New York Sights. New York, June 8. —On her first visit to New York and her first ride In an elevator, Lena Schoonmaker, nineteen years old, was crushed to death when her head was caught between the floor of the elevator and the sixth floor of the Flatiron building. The party of which she was one was being chaperoned by Mrs. Charles MiHall, daughter of Judge Alton B. Parker. Mrs. Hall had taken a fancy to the girl and brought her from Kingston, N. Y., with nine other girls, to see the sights.
