Items Picked Up About the County Capitol. t' Clerk Warner is sporting a new anama hat, and there are no holes in it either. Complete report of the proceedings, of the county commissioners will be published in Saturday’s Democrat, there having been little done up to yesterday except allowing claims. Frank Stark, W. E. Bruce and M. J. Klein, Lake county farmers indicted recently by the Federal grand jury for shipping “doctored” milk to Chicago, were fined $lO each and costs before Judge Anderson at Indianapolis last Saturday. — o- ■ — County Commissioner Denham of Remington came over Monday to attend the regular meeting of the commissioners, in a fine new 4-pas-senger Jackson auto. It is a 20horse power x machine of medium price and a Very good looker. It is the only Jackson in the county, we believe. . The county commissioners put in the forenoon Monday allowing claims, and in the afternoon Geo. Ketchum took them up into Keener tp., in his- auto to look at the new T bridges being built there. The report of the poor farm superintendent for the quarter ending May 31, shows that the expenses for the quarter were $698.59 and receipts $1,801.99, a net surplus of $1,103.40. There were 15 inmates of the poor asylum at end of quarter. Interest on county funds for the month of May was reported from the various county depositories was as follows: First Xat.
