BOONE DRY, PORTER WET.

Result of Option Elections This Week a “Stand Off.” Boonp county, already dry by remonstrance, decided Tuesday by a majority of 2,442 to continue on the water wagon. Porter county voted Thursday and was carried by the wets by 375. Valparaiso, the home of that great educational college, Valparaiso University and-which had been remonstrated dry, gave a wet majority of 102. Ten of the twelve townships In the county were carried by the wets. The entire county has been dry for several months by remonstrance, except Pleasant township in the southern part of the county, where six saloons, the only ones In the county, are located. This town-

ship was carried by the wets by 45. The student vote in Valparaiso University was not cast. Practically a full vote was cast. This is the eleventh victory won by the wets in the state thus far, and, owing to the fact that Porter was practically dry., heretofore, is the most important victory won.
