The board of education will not meet this month, there being nothing particular to come up. Bonds for that part of the Hoagland ditch affecting lands in this county were sold by the county treasurer Thursday to the State Bank of Rensselaer at par and accrued interest. The amount of the bonds was $3,373.34. New suits filed: No. 7457. Charles T. Otis vs. Nehemiah Littlefield; action in replevin. No. 7458. Thomas S. Dowling vs. Orrhi Elijah; change of venue from NeWton county. No. 7459, Henrietta S. Akers vs. Frederick McKee; action to quiet title. —o % Thirteen year old Ida Shreeves, who was hauled before Mayor Ellis Tuesday on a charge of petty larceny and confessed to several charges of housebreaking, will be brought before Judge Hanley as judge of the Juvenile Court, next week and will probably be sent to the Indiana Girls’ School. Practically all of the stolen property has been returned or settled for. E. V. “Ransford reurned the money received for a pair of shoes, Dr. Rose M. Remmeck has made settlement for a pair of nose glasses she fitted for the girl, and C. B. Steward has signified a willingness to settle his claim of six dollars for $5. The matter will be at a standstill until the return of Judge Hanley but the girl would be offered better advantages if she were to be sent to the reformatory for a short term, is the general opinion. She confessed to taking money from C. B. Steward’s office in the Hildebrand building, and $3.56 from Rosa Culp’s home. Mr. Steward had missed one of the keys to his office which he had left in the door, and thinks the girl took it and when he was out of town on business she went to his office and ransacked it at different times, finding the money in a drawer to his desk.
