C., June I.—The Laetare medal, conferred annually by the Roman Catholic church for distinction In the realm or art or letters, has been presented to Mrs. Frances Fisher Tierman, known to the literary world as Christian Reid. The University oT Notre Dame, Ind., custodian of the medal, had two representatives present. Dr. Zahm, of the Catholic University and Rev. J. a. Burns, presldeht of Holy Cross, Washington.
