Capt. and Mrs. J. W. Payne went Monticello on business Monday. James and Alice Drake of Chicago came Saturday to spend a few days. Ernest Gowland went to Morocco Monday to work on the telephone lines. Frank Acheson, land inspector for the Lafayette Savings Bank, was in town on business Saturday. Mrs. ,Mary Cowden and two daudaughters of Logansport came Saturday for a short visit here. Mrs. George Brouhard and children of Union tp., went to Sheridan Monday to visit with relatives. George Hemphill of Chicago spent Sunday with his parents here, re turning to the city Monday.
Mrs. Charles Stevenson' went to Monticello Saturday to spend a few days visiting with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Rice Porter spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Fountain at Goodland. YMr. and Mrs. B. F. Fendig, Miss arma Kannal and H. J. Parker went to Cedar Lake Monday, fishing. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Austin came down from Chicago Sunday for a brief visit with Rensselaer friends. Chas. Phegley of south of town left Monday for Stanley, No. Dak., for an indifinite visit and prospecting trip. Fay and Luther Schriener of Delphi ' came Monday for an extended vist with Mr. and Mrsf. E. A. Aidrich. Mrs. Anna Wartena went to South Chicago and Gary Monday for a week’s end visit with her sons. Harry Biggs of Indianapolis came Sunday to visit a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Biggs. Mrs. H. M. Cossel of Chalmers returned after a short visit here with Mr. end Mrs. Noah Zelgler of north of town_ Mayor Bookwalter and three sons of Indianapolis were in tohrn Sunday bound for Chicago in their big automobile. Mrs. A. L. Branch and little Coeffine and Beatrice Branch left Monday for their home in Oakland, Call. Miss Kate Iselman returned to her home in- Laporte Friday after a short stay with friends here and at McCoyaburg. Mrs. William Legg and family of Monticello returned home Monday after a short visit with relatives north of town. John Elljs, Elbert Antrim and Donald Hollingsworth, all of Chicago, returned home Monday after a short stay here. Mrs. R. A. Hawkins and children returned Monday to Logansport after • visit of a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Will Mackey.
