DRYS WIN IN HARRISON Mayor Lemuel Darrow, Who Had Been Active In the Cause of the Anti-Pro-hibitionlsts, Addresses Crowd and Urges That Jollification Be Omlted In Order to Keep From Adding to Bitterness of the Campaign. Indianapolis, May 28. —Laporte and Floyd counties voted wet and Harrison county voted dry in the local option elections. The victory of the wets in Laporte county, where the contest has been bitter, was overwhelming. Full returns indicate that the wet majority was about 4,395. Floyd county voted wet by a majority of about 2,000. The estimated dry majority in Harrison county is 169. Both Michigan City and Laporte gave the wets a large majority. Eleven precincts of Michigan City showed a wet majority of 2,002, ard the city of Laporte voted wet by 1,184. The election in Laporte was comparatively free from disorder. Mayor Lemuel Darrow, who has been active in the cause of the wets, addressed a crowd in front of the wet headquarters. He urged that there be no demonstration, declaring that a Jollification would only add to the bitterness which exists between the wet and dry factions.
