LORIMER ELECTED SENATOR.

Deadlock That Has Existed In Hinqjs Since January 20, Broken Wednesday. The senatorial'deadlock in Illinois was broken Wednesday by the election of Congressman William Lorimer of £hlcago as U. 8. Senator to succeed Albert J. Hopkins. Lorimer received 108 votes, Hopkins 70, Stringer 23 on the final ballot. J'he election of Lo rimer was brought about by an alliance with the democrats by which 53 of the latter voted for him. The deadlock has existed since January 20.
