HOME GROWN STRAWBERRIES SOON.

N. S. Bates hopes to have his (home-grown strawberries on the market by June Ift. The dry weather and grub worms injured hiß beds considerably last year but he has more plants out this season and will probably about as large a yield in total quantity as last year. Mr. Bates tried sowing salt on his strawberry patch this season, having read that it would stop the grub worms from working, and he has seen no signs of these worms where the salt was sown, although they have worked in the fieeld where no salt was used. He sowed it broadcast, using a barrel to the acre.
