TAKES UP HOMESTEAD CLAIM.

Bherman Renicker of Part: returned Monday from a week’s trip to , Hugo, Colo., where the government has recently opened up several hundred thousand acres of land to homesteaders. It is located about 100 miles this side of Denver and 50 miles from Colorado Springs. It Is not irrigated land, having plenty of rainfall, and will grow almost anything, Sherman says, and especially fine fruit. He took up 320 acres and expects to go there this fall to live upon it. Mr. Renicker also made a deal this week whereby he becomes the o#ner of a 140 acre farm in Crawford county, Mo., having traded his Parr blacksmith shop to W. L. Wood for the place.
