CHIEF’S TEAM WINS CONTEST.

In the remarkably fast time 1:27, Fire Chief Jack Montgomery’s men snowed under the hose team under command of Assistant Chief Charles Rhoades in their run against time Thursday evening from the engine house to the public library, a distance of some 300 yards. Charley’s team lost considerable time when the hydrant man in alighting from the wagon dropped the hose, which was dragged little distance up the street.
