Items Picked Up About the County Capitol. The Benton Kelly highway case from Newton tp., this county, was again continued for the term in the White circuit court Monday. Governor Marshall has designated that Monday, May 31, be observed this year as Memorial Day, and the same will be a legal holiday in Indiana. . —o— TxA last and final dividend is to be |eclared in the A. McCoy & Co. bank failure, which occurred here in April 1904. This dividend is to be 3% per cent, making a total of 47% per cent, in the bank estate. Tom McCoy’s personal estate has paid but 3% per cent., while the Alfred McCoy personal estate paid 62% per cent. Auditor Leatherman and Clerk Warner were over in Carpenter tp., Wednesday looking after their farming Interests. The big hail storm that struck that locality Saturday did some damage in the way of breaking window panes in that vicinity, and still more nearer Remington, where the hail was hardest. Fruit was probably hurt considerably there. Marriage licenses issued: May 18, Cleve William Eger of Rensselaer, aged 23, occupation merchant, to Juno Ida Kannal, also of Rensselaer, aged 25, occupation bookkeeper. Fifst marriage for each. stTher, aged 30, occupation farmer, to Mary Ellen Moore, also of Rensselaer, daughter of William Moore, aged 27, occupation housekeeper. First marriage for each.
