In going over the enumeration figures of Union tp., again County Supt. Lamson found an error in the footings of Union tp., which increases the number of children of school age there to 405, instead of 375. This makes the net loss in Union but 71, and reduces the loss in the county_tO 224.

Sheriff Shirer, who was down to Longcliff Tuesday with Mrs. John Mohler, reports that Chris. Wuerthner, recently taken there from Newton tp., this county, was pushing a lawn mower on the asylum grounds, while Benj. Biggs, another recent addition from Jasper county, was assisting in building a sewer.

—®TThe Democrat was in error In saying in Wednesday’s issue that the late James W. Doutnit of Weatherford, Okla., succeeded John Brown as prosecutor of this circuit. He was appointed in 1895 to succeed T. C, Annabal of Goodland, who died soon after taking the office. Mr.* Douthit was 61 years of age at the time of his death.

Judge Hanley’ and Court Reporter Sigler came home from Kentland Wednesday night, and the Judge will not go back unless called until the third week of the term. Lairy of Logansport was out yesterday’ sitting in some cases in which he is special judge, and Reporter Sigler went over to be present if wanted. There will be no court next week.
