CUBAN UPRISING IS SERIOUS

Support Is Premised Gomez In Curbing the Rebels. The rebel outbreak in Santa Clara province, has Bcored its first fatality. Lavastida, a former -captain of the rural guard, was shot and killed by the detachment of the guard sent out 1o arrest him. It Is alleged that he made a resistance. It is reported that the' uprising is more serious than the authorities are willing to admit. \ President Gomez is in receipt of many telegrams from officials, veteran organizations and private citizens pledging loyalty and active support In the maintenance of the republic.
