NAMED FOR REAL ADMIRAL

Uriah P Harris, Former Columbus Man, Nominated by President. Columbus. Ind.. March 2.—President Roosevelt has nominated Uriah P. Harris, of this city, to be a rear admiral in the United States navy, and the nomination is now awaiting the confirmation of the senate. Harris is now a commander and has held that title for several years A number of years ago he was engaged tn the dry goods business in Columbus, but decided to enter the navy, and did so. His promotion came rapidly, and it is almost certain now that he will have the rank of rear admiral. He has been hard at work since he left Columbus, and has only been back for a few short visits, but nevertheless still claims this city as his home. His brother, Jacob Harris, still lives here.
