LOST $700 PLAYING POKER
Man and His Wife Bring Sult to Recover the Amount. Newcastle, Ind., March 2 —Alleging that S7OO, all the money they possessed, was lost over the gabmling table, Charles Turner and his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Turner, have filed suit in the circuit court against James Griffin. John Llndamood, W. B. Runyan and Nicholas Essinger to recover the amount. Turner was until a year ago a farmer living southwest of the city and moved to town. According to the complaint filed in the circuit court he soon got into town ways, among them the habit of playing poker. The complaint charges that he lost S7OO in a room operated by the four defendants, between last September and last January. The money was checked out of a local bank, and the checks, signed by various ones of the four defendants, are in the hands of the attorneys and will be used as evidence. Mrs Turner charges that the money belonged to her and that her husband checked It out over the gaming table without her consent The court granted a restraining order preventing any of the defendants from disposing of property.
