TRUSTEES’ MEETING.
The township trustees had their regular monthly meeting Monday afternoon in the County Superintendent’s office. The matter of the graduation examination was taken up. It was decided to hold two examinations in each township on the third Saturday of March and April. Applicants who fail upon the first examination may try the second. They will only be required to take those subjects on the second examination in which their grades on the first were less than 80 per cent. The examinations are to be held at the following places: Barkley, Center; Carpenter, Remington; Gillam, Center; Hanging Grove, McCoysburg; Jordan, Egypt; Kankakee, Tefft; Keener, Demotte; Marlon, Rensselaer; Newton, No. 4; Union, March at Parr, April at Fair Oaks; Walker, Center; Wheatfield, Wheatfield. Reports from the teachers as to
members of the corn club for next year showed that quite an Interest was being taken in the work over the county. So far as had been reported nearly 300 boys had expressed a desire to become members of the club next year. Probably not over 75 per cent of the schools had been heard fiom as yet and it was the opinion of Superintendent Lamson that the number would be over 400. All the trustees expressed a desire to boost the work all they could and try to have as large a show next year as possible. All the trustees were present ex-t cept Trustee Wortley of Jordan, who but recently got married.
