OVERPOWERS TWO OFFICERS

Prisoner Brought Across Continent Escapes After Robbing Hfs Guards. Bristol, Tenn., Feb. 23.—After having been brought aross the continent from Oregon, D. H. Meade, wanted in Scott county, Virginia, for murder, made a daring escape from two officers at Appalachia, Va. He robbed them of their money, watches and revolvers. The prisoner was handcuffed to one of the officers. While they were asleep, Meade secured the handcuff keys.
