“GROSSCUP” ON TRIAL
“Senator La Follette” to Be Chief Prosecuting Attorney. Indianapolis, Feb. 23. Shortridge high school senate has decided to try Judge Peter Grosscup, othewise known in the senate as Senator Mills (Maurice Heims). The charge will be that of accepting a bribe. It is charged that he accepted a bribe from the Standard Oil company to remit the fine of $29,000,000 which was assessed on the trust by Judge Landis in the lower court. In the election two candidates were nominated for judge, Senator Morgan (Scott Brewer) and Tillman (Donald Mellett). The vote gave the position to Senator Morgan, 34 to 31. Senator La Follette (Robert Armstrong) was unanimously elected chief prosecuting attorney. His assistants, as elected by the senate, are Senators Tillman and Hale (Charles Jones). The attorneys for the defense were selected by the defendant. He announced his counsel as follows: Senator Guggenheim (Maurice Jtjdd), Senator Harrison (Donald Brewer) and Senator Taliaferro (Ralph Sickles).
