TEXAS BARS RACE BETTING

House Members Pass a Bill by a Vote of 90 to 20. Austin, Tex.. Feb. 19.—Members of the Texas legislature fell in line with the solons of other states and the house passed a bill which prohibits betting on horse races. The vote was 90 to 20 in favor of the measure and its terms preclude betting at county fairs or any other meeting. Kansas Puts Ban on Betting. Topeka. Kan.. Feb. 19.—A bill passed by the house’ committee, of the whole makes race betting and pool selling illegal at all times of the year.
