Items Picked Up About the County Capitol. The delniquent tax list of Lake county covers four of the mammouth pages of the Lake County Star. Jasper and White also have a much larger list of delinquencies than usual, while Newton and Bentonia delinquent list is very small. In fact, in Newton they will hold no sale at all this year. —-o A new congressional apportionment scheme of the republicans would take Porter and Laporte out of the Tenth district and place them in the Thirteenth. Starke and Pulaski, now in the Thirteenth, would be given to the Tenth. Marion county would be divided, part going to the Fourth and part to the Ninth. First marriage for each. —o— — A petition headed by Joe Borntrager is being circulated for the continuation of the Iroquois ditch, to take the place of the Carr petition which was recently defeated by remonstrance. It is not thought the project will be fought so strenously this time, as most of the people seem to realize that this is an improvement that must come sooner or later, and that all the opposition is doing is merely to delay the matter. There are many things about our improvement laws that seem unjust, and are unjust, but they have to be taken in the end.
