Philadelphia Navy Yard Completes Work On the Battleships. Philadelphia, Jan. 26.—A reduction in the number of employes at the Philadelphia navy yard has thrown nearly 600 mechanics out of work. According to the authorities this re duction is due to completion of the work of overhauling the battleships Idaho and Mississippi. <>' It is rumored that it is the intention to replace the men at a lower rating and on' a lower scale of wages when Wbrk is resumed.
