/'Harry Parker was called to Hampnond a* an expert witness Wednesday in the interests of the C. I. A L„ railway .company against whom a |40,000 dollar Judgment was rendered in the suit of Haines Hackett vs. the Monon. Hackett had both legs cut oft while switching in the yards at Monon about two years ago, and Parker has furnished sketches and photographs of the scene of the accident. W. R. Nowels received a card Wednesday morning stating that his brother, D. B. Nowels, of Lamar, Colo., was in a hospital in Denver, where he had undergone an operation for an abcess in one of his ears, whieh had given him considerable trouble of late. It was necessary to open the skull back of the ear to remove the trouble. He was reported doing nicely when the card was written. R. G. Mills, ex-nickelodeon manager is reported to have come near getting in bad at Remington a few days ago.n He hired a livery team from the stable at that place to drive a few miles north of town. He forgot how far he was going and came to Rensselaer. The proprietor of the Remington barn located him by telephone and put. Marshal Parks on his trail. Mills got wise to the fact they wanted to see him and hiked out of town. He was later located north of town at Parr, where he took the milk train south Wednesday evening.
