WEAPONS IN THE CAKE

Officials Discover Plot for Jail Delivery at Los Angeles. Los Angeles, Cal., Jan. 15, —An attempt to smuggle a revolver and cartridges concealed in two cakes into the county jail led to the discovery of a plot to murder the night jailers. Frank J. Humely, a prisoner, has confessed that he originated the plot and that he had planned to release thirty prisoners. The cakes were sent by Robert E. Watson, who was released recently after serving a sentence for forgery. H< has been rearrested.
