IN HONOR OF LINCOLN
President May Fix February 12 as Day of National Celebration. Washington, Jan. 16. —The Grand Army of the Republic desires a national celebration of the one hundredth anniversary of the birth of Lincoln on Feb. 12, and has asked President Roosevelt to issue a proclamation urging such a celebration. The matter was put before the president by General H. M. Nevius of New Jersey, commander-in-chief of the organization and General F. F. Burdette of this city, past commander-in-chief. The president said he would take up the matter today.
