OBITUARY.

Aley A. Baker was born as New Bloomington, Ind., April 6, 1856, and died at Rensselaer, Sept. 11, 1908. After a residence in Laporte, Porter and Lake counties, she came to Jasper county in 1875. She was married to John N. Baker, Sept. 6, 1876. and to this union was born eight children, four boys and four girls, all of whom with her husband survive her. In 1878 she joined the Protestant Methodist church and later the Christian church, of which she was a member at the time of her death. Interment in the Prater cemetery in Barkley tp.; Sunday afternoon. Deceased was a daughter of Dr. Stockwell, formerly of Barkley tp., and who moved to Tennessee several years ago. Rev. Clarke of the Rensselaer Christian church conducted the funeral services.
