Albert Dodge took in the Lafayette fair last Thursday. Harry Gilbert and Luce Bartoo are taking a course in an automoblie school in Chicago. Mrs. D. A. Bickel is visiting relatives and friends in Pontiac and other points in Illinois. Mrs. Elizabeth Love of Kankakee, 111., visited her father-in-law, W. R. Love and wife last week. J. A. Teter and J. W. Lock are each at the State Fair this week with a herd of their fancy swine. Mrs. Geo. Hargreaves went to Clifton. 111., again last week to help care for her mother, who is in poor health. Quite a number of our people attended the home-coming at Rensselaer last week, especially on Wednesday and Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. William Nutt returned to their home near Rochester last Wednesday after a couple of weeks visit with relatives here. The Remington band went oven to Rensselaer Thursday to assist in enthusing a little life into the “republican day" at the home-coming. Mr. Frank Pampel and Miss Ethel Crabb, will be united in marriage tonight at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Crabb. Miss Ruth Woodin who has been spending the summer here with her mother and grandmother, Mrs. Phillippi, returned to Hammond Monday to enter school. John and Bert Grennard and Miss Blanche Pierce accompanied Miss Zula Sayers and Alva Grennard, who have been visiting here for a couple of weeks, to tfieir home in Waynetown last Wednesday. David R. Colston sold his farm three miles north and one mile east of town to Joseph Veter for $142.50 per acre. Mr. Colston bought a farm of the same unmber of acres in the corner of Jasper county paying $125 per acre.—Fowler Leader. Fowler Republican: Mr. Roy Atkinson and Miss Nellie Shand were united in marriage at the home of the bride’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. David Shand in Gilboa tp., Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock. The ceremony was performed by Rev. C. W. Postlll, of the Fowler M. E. church. About forty of the M. E. church. About forty guests were In attendance. The young people are very popular and will make their home here on a farm in the northeast part of the county.
