GREAT NIGHT FAIR

GROUNDS OF KANKAKEE DISTRICT FAIR LIGHT AS DAY—REMINDS OF THE PIKE. Did you ever attend the night session of the Kankakee District Fair? If not, you have missed one of the most entertaining things to he found anywhere. By a carefully thought-out and admirably executed arrangement, the grounds are made almost as light as day by myriads of electric lights. While no such things as races and exhibition of stock are held at the night session, yet the atmosphere of the great World’s Fairs permeates the grounds and makes a most enjoyable entertainment. The fine vaudeville schedule and circus acts are given in the' evening in- front of the Grand Stand, furnishing an hour or two hours’ entertainment that in itself is well worth going to see. Then pandemonium breaks loose —hundreds of barkers for the many shows and entertainments tune up their vociferous voices on the still night air and cries are heard of “Lemo! Lemo! 5 cents a glass!— See the Fat Boy !—look at Joe, Joe, the Dog-Faced Man!- Popcorn and Crackerjack, 5 a sack!” It’s the old World's Fair Midway cries and sliouts of the “Pike’’ repeated over and over again. There is nothing like it anywhere else, except at the Kankakee District Fair. When you attend the fair this year, make preparations to stay over and be present at the night session.
