Detroit, Mich., July 31.—Vice President Fairbanks and Mrs. Fairbanks arrived here from the tercentenary celebration at Quebec and left three hours later for Mackinac island, •where they have taken a cottage for the remainder of the summer. They were entertained at luncheon at the Hotel Pontchartralh during their stay by Philip H. McMillan.
