NO APPEAL TAKEN

In the Delos Thompsoq Compromise. CREDITORS CENSURE MR. BOWERS For His Utter Disregard ot Their Wishes in the natter and Think More Should Have Been Paid, Or None. The McCoy bank creditors decided not to appeal from the decision of Referee Bowers in ordering the acceptance of the SIO,OOO offered by Delos Thompson to compromise the claim of $54,000 due the bank estate from the old Rensselaer Stock Farm. Tha. trustee has been very lukewarm in this claim, it is alleged, all along and there was no prospect of his doing anything in an appeal. None of the individual creditors who opposed the compromise oared; to go to the expense of an appeal! themselves, consequently nothing was done, and the SIO,OOO will be accepted and another small dividend will no doubt soon be declared. Those who were opposed to compromise on the basis offered criticise Referee Bowers severely for ordering its acceptance over their protest, wherein they outnumbered the compromise petitioners 102 to 17 in number and $3 to $1 in the amount of their claims. They say that if they wanted to spend their money in a lawsuit to endeavor to secure the full amount of the claim —and which they think they stood about nine chances to win to one chance to lose —it was their business and not the referee’s.
