Items Picked Up About the County Capitol. The White circuit court convened Monday, —o — The board of assessors’ will meet Thursday, Feb, 27, at the county assessors office to make out their schedule for assessing personal property and to secure their supplies. \ —o— The delinquent tax sale Monday brought out about the usual' number of buyers and all the property was sold except possibly a piece or two in Fair Oaks, John Eger got Tom McCoy’s former mansion on McCoy avenue for $37.97. —o — Under the new depository law the interest on county funds for the month of January was $291.58. The Rensselaer school board did not receive its “December draw” until Jan, 24, and had but little on hand and will not have much to draw interest on until it gets its June draw. It only received $3.71 interest for January. Marion tp., received -$15.67 interest on its funds for last month. —o — The following Remington people were in the city Tuesday, most of whom, we understand, were before the grand jury giving evidenoe, it is supposed, in the Parker bank failure: James Hogan, Thomas Callaghan, James Callaghan, Charles Lucterband, George Lucterhand, James W. Barling, W. H. Cheadle, Moses Sigo, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones, Guy Julian, Henry Stitz, Jasper Guy. C. C. Winger, Chas. May, Wm. Townsend, J. A. Wingate, member of the board of state tax commissioners: “You may call your assessors for a meeting at your court house on Tuesday of next week Feb, 18, at 10 a. m. Please ask the county auditor, treasurer, prosecuting attorney, county council and county commissioners. This will be a very important meeting and everybody is invited. The more people you can get to attend the meeting the more benefit we will get from it.” Mr. Wingate will be here and address the meeting.
