Frisco Committee Quits Task.

San Francisco, May 22.—The committee of seven, to which the city has looked for .some days to reorganize the government and straighten out some of the tangles in which the grafters and the grafter-chasers have thrown it, gave up in despair and resigned. The direct cause of retirement was the antagonistic attitude toward the committee assumed by Rudolph Sprockets and Assistant District Attorney Heney.
