SUICIDE IN UNION TOWNSHIP.
Henry Sanders End* His Life With A Raxon Henry J. Sanders, aged 58 years, committed suicide at the home of his son who resides on the farm now owned by Levi Renicker, about a mile east of Parr, sometime Saturday night or early Sunday morning, by cutting his throat with a razor. At just what hour the deed was committed is not known, but when the son came home from attending lodge at Parr, about 10 o’clock Saturday night, he thinks his father was in his room. He was first missed when he failed to respond to a call for breakfast Sunday morning, and an investigation disclosed that his room was empty. A search of the premises by the son and J. N. Gunyon, who was called by telephone, soon . resulted in finding the unfortunate man near the corn crib, with a big gash in his throat which had severed the jugular vein and partly severed the windpipe. He had been dead several hours when found. . Near by lay a bloodstained razor, which told how the deed had been done. Coroner Wright was called and held an inquest, rendering a verdict of suicide. Mr. Sanders was a widower, having been twice married, and made his home with his two sons, the one here and one in Vincennes, Ind. ‘He was suffering from Bright’s disease and no doubt in a fit of despondency decided to end it all in the manner above stated. The funeral was held at the Parr church Tuesday forenoon, conducted by Rev. B. F. Ferguson, of Rensselaer, and interment made in Weston cemetery. I will be at Remington Hotel, Thursday, May 2. Extracting teeth without pain or danger. Every operation satisfactory or no pay accepted.
Dr. O. K. ROBERTS.
