Pollock, chief of department B, interior department, of the allegation In the affidavit made at Salt Lake City by Michael A. Myendorff. a special agent of the government, that Pollock bad instructed Myendorff to destroy four affidavits he had procured against the Union Pacific Coal company In the coal land fraud Investigation In Utah. Pollock says that the statements reflecting on his conduct and motives In connection with the above stated matter are absolutely untrue, and thnt the statement that he .advised Myendorff to destroy the affidavits alluded to is wilfully false.
