DEMOCRATIC GAINS IN INDIANA. In the vote on the state ticket the democrats make a gain of about 70,000 over the vote of two years ago. 4 In the vote on congressman in districts carried by the republicans two years ago the democrats make gains as follows: First District 2,500 Second District 1,200 Fifth District 4,500 Sixth District 6,000 Seventh District 6,000 Eighth Districtl2,ooo Ninth District 4,000 Tenth District? 7,000 Eleventh Districtl2,ooo Twelfth District 1,600 Thirteenth District 6.700 Two years ago the republicans had a majority of fifty-eight in the lower house of the general assembly. They are now claiming, a majority of four. Besides, the Democrats have gained a very large number of county, township and judicial officers and increased their votes in every contest.
